SPONSORED PREOUTPLACEMENT SOLUTION

...a paid, structured, transition solution helping companies support employees impacted by workforce reductions -  preserving performance, confidence, and active employability.

PERFORMANCE MAINTENANCE DURING TRANISITION

MIDCITIES DESIGNS is an external, cohort-based pre-outplacement program established to support former employees through workforce transitions - without blurring the lines between employment, severance, and rehire. Built in partnership with sponsoring organizations, the program provides structure, continuity, and momentum during a defined transition period, helping participants maintain performance, confidence, and employability while companies navigate reductions effectively.

The result? A time-bound separation that preserves dignity for Fellows AND assists in protecting the operational, financial, and cultural integrity for organizations.

SOLUTION

  • Duration: eight- or twelve- week options

  • Schedule: structured, five-hour moments on M,T,R

  • Format: in-person

  • Cohort: up to twenty (20) Fellows per sponsoring organization

STRUCTURE

  • Fellows receive 50% of their former base pay per week - as pay continuation is contingent upon weekly active participation in the transition,

  • Pay continuation is a conditional severance benefit, paid via the sponsoring organization,

  • Participation does not create an employment relationship with Midcities Designs or Ekonometrix,

  • No promise, implication or expectation of rehire at sponsoring organization,

  • No promise, implication or expectation of placement at any organization or company.

APPROACH

Midcities uses physiological and fine-arts based performance training as a method - not an outcome - to assist Fellows in finding forward movement with intention. The curriculum combines mental and vocal conditioning with presence and communication adaptability to help Fellows stabilize and recalibrate during transition. Structured job-search hours - designed as focused “study hall” time - are supported by HR and industry collaborators, creating accountability without performance pressure. The program also emphasizes beyond-the-RIF affinity and shared peer experiences, using guided group reflection and identity reintroduction to help participants sustain their professional narrative.

ELIGIBILITY

  • Fellows must be former employees (not currently an employee) of sponsoring organization,

  • Must be enrolled as an outplacement or transition Fellow, and in no other role within Midcities,

  • No more than three excused absences.
